Wear OS for smart watches reminds you to wash your hands

Cleanliness is the key to health. This saying has become more relevant today than ever. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic does not think to stop yet. At the same time, the best that ordinary people can do to, if not stop, then at least slow down the spread of coronavirus infection, is to withstand self-isolation, maintain social distance, and also wash hands more often. Google itself is ready to help with the latter.

The company has released for all smart watches running on the Wear OS operating system, update 5.4.0, which will periodically remind the user to wash their hands.

The Clock application (available for download separately from the Play Store) has a built-in reminder that every three hours will display a message saying that it’s time to take care of your hands clean. When you open the notification, a 40-second timer will start, during which activity it is recommended to carry out a hygiene procedure. In addition, the application will remind you to wash your hands with soap. At the end of the timer, the application will also inform you that it will remind you of the next procedure in three hours.

As the Android Police resource notes , the reminder can be turned off by pressing and holding the received message.
