The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted LG Display a patent for the so-called Rollable display. As can be seen in the illustrations, the South Korean developer reflects on a television made in a cylindrical body.

When folded, the device will not take up much space. Thus, the panel can be easily integrated into various interiors.

To put the device into operation it will be enough to pull the screen out of the case. The cylindrical module can be mounted both vertically and horizontally.

Apparently, users will be able to pull the display to a certain length - say, for a full viewing of video materials or just to display useful information.

The patent says that the screen can be made using technology of organic light emitting diodes (OLED). The possibility of using electronic paper is also possible.
The patent application was filed in December 2016, but the document was issued only now. About LG Display plans for the commercialization of a roll-top TV has not yet been announced.
