The American corporation Apple, as an aid in combating the spread of coronavirus, has opened access to the navigation data that Apple Maps registers, according to a release on the corporation's website.
The new function will show statistics of the movement of people in a particular region. The service will receive data from custom route requests.
At the same time, Apple was assured that they were not going to keep records of the movements of owners of mobile devices, and the data received would not be associated with personal user accounts.
Information will be available only in the form of statistics. A new site has been developed for the new function, where you can see graphs of movement trends in the world, including Russia.
Thanks to this, the authorities will be able to assess the type of transport to which people give preference to quarantine.
